Another fine report, it really is a fantastic place Smile We went to Horgabost when we were over there, but didn't have the same weather as you got Mad Looks like you have had some terrific luck with the weather.
Thanks again.

What a wonderful looking place. Your recent series of reports have been a great advert for Harris. I hadn't seriously considered going there before, as it's such a long way away, but if you can pick good weather, it looks an idyllic place to explore. Another island to add to the list! Cool

Hi Foggie, I've only been to the Western Isles once so far but travelled through Barra, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Harris and Lewis. Your pictures are fabulous and show what an amazing place this is - delighted you had such great weather and I'm sure you will be back to see this amazing part of the world!! Very Happy Very Happy

Absolutely stunning foggie.
We're thinking about heading that way at the end of May - fingers crossed we get the conditions you encountered.
Thanks Very Happy

Stunning pictures I stayed on the beach across from Taransay in hot weather a few years back. Babs reckoned it to be the best holiday shes had and I reckon so.

I will be taking my boat for the last week next month to visit Taransay, etc. Hope to have similiar weather. You can visit it by a small ferry I believe.

I was very fortunate to have a low level flight over the area you were walking. It is probably Scotland's most beautiful place, I do not say that lightly. I think your photos are evidence. Well done a great report Very Happy Very Happy

Yes, info here:
http://www.visit-taransay.com/html/daytrip.html

I fancied going over to Taransay but couldn't fit a visit into Monday to Friday.
I seriously considered swimming it, but I would have been pretty cold by the time I got across. Owning a boat, like yours, went through my mind while there.

The informal camping at Horgabost (basic toilets and fresh water) used to be good but they have put in new facilities now and when we were there last year it was overcrowded, very noisy and very messy. Sad It was during the Glasgow holiday period and it was much busier than normal for that time of year, people electing to holiday at home instead of going abroad.

Foggies pictures of the beaches are absolutely stunning Cool but nothing prepares you for the real thing, it is truly breathtaking. Cool Cool
