Chain lines look pretty mental, dunno if I'd be up for the ones going right up a cliff.

Is that near Crail? Just with the mention of the WW2

Although you have to take care and grip the chain well, the steeper bits all have steps cut in the rock to help you. It's good fun and would recommend the experience.Very Happy

Yes, Elie is not that far from Crail.

We went and did this yesterday and it was great fun Smile I was a bit trepidous at first, but that hypnotherapy is definitely working!! The rocks and caves are really interesting and the rock is really nice and grippy so you feel pretty secure (as long as you have strong arms Smile).

Definitely recommended, especially on a nice sunny day as there are plenty of sunbathing opportunities too Cool

Really interesting geology along this section of the coast, amazing rock formations.

Glad you both enjoyed it, as I found the "walk" to be great fun with fine views and the Devil's tower was spectacular.

Your pictures are of course outstanding and more than do this route justice.Very Happy

No I hadn't seen this but was aware of the Lake District VF, which looks a bit harder than Elie!

If you fancy doing the real VF's try the Dolomites - there are plenty of reports from myself and Midgefodder in the "Other Hills" forum:

Cheers
