Is that near Crail? Just with the mention of the WW2 |
Although you have to take care and grip the chain well, the steeper bits all have steps cut in the rock to help you. It's good fun and would recommend the experience.
Yes, Elie is not that far from Crail. _________________ Being on the hills gives you a sense of where you are, where you've been, where you're going and why! |

We went and did this yesterday and it was great fun I was a bit trepidous at first, but that hypnotherapy is definitely working!! The rocks and caves are really interesting and the rock is really nice and grippy so you feel pretty secure (as long as you have strong arms ).
Definitely recommended, especially on a nice sunny day as there are plenty of sunbathing opportunities too |

Really interesting geology along this section of the coast, amazing rock formations. |

Glad you both enjoyed it, as I found the "walk" to be great fun with fine views and the Devil's tower was spectacular.
Your pictures are of course outstanding and more than do this route justice. _________________ Being on the hills gives you a sense of where you are, where you've been, where you're going and why! |

No I hadn't seen this but was aware of the Lake District VF, which looks a bit harder than Elie!
If you fancy doing the real VF's try the Dolomites - there are plenty of reports from myself and Midgefodder in the "Other Hills" forum:
